September 24, The Iran Project - Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani has recently censured the United States President Donald Trump’s latest rant against the Islamic Republic at 72nd Regular Session of the UN General Assembly in New York which has accused Tehran of “supporting terrorists.”
Addressing an internal meeting in the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Saturday, Larijani derided at certain parties accusing Iran of supporting terrorist groups and described as 'ridiculous' allegations leveled against Iran.
"Such nonsense accusations by certain parties are aimed at affecting the global public opinion," he said.
How it is possible for Iran to fight Daesh (ISIS) terrorists in Syria and Iraq, and at the same time try to prop up them, Larijani added.
Iran Parliament Speaker said that all the world big powers and their allies waged a long war against Iran, referring to the Iraq's eight-year imposed war against Iran in the 1980s.
Lambasting the anti-Iran accusations, he said that Washington should be ashamed of itself for leveling such accusations against Tehran.
Recently-revealed documents show it was the US, and other Western and regional countries, encouraged and supported the deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam to invade the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Addressing the Parliament (Majlis) open session held in the Iranian capital this morning, Larijani also appreciated President Hassan Rouhani for his outspoken and enlightening address at the recent 72nd Regular Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
"President Rouhani's remarks were a due response to Trump's hallucinatory and hollow words," Larijani noted.
Trump has to realize that the world has changed and that a political vigilance now has emerged in the Islamic countries and this is not going to be altered merely by hollow bragging by people like him, he added.
"US President is apparently lagging behind the global developments for half a century," Iran's parliament speaker stressed.
