US House votes to prevent sale of aircraft to Iran

14 Sep 2017 - 13:04

IRNA – US House of Representatives adopted different measures to 'prevent sale of commercial aircraft to Iran', The Hill , an American political website reported on Wednesday.

'The US House takes such measures '…, despite warnings from some Democrats that it would undermine the international accord (between Iran and world powers, including the US),' the American website said.

Rep Earl Blumenauer warned that blocking the sales would result in “penalizing American companies for no good purpose” and threaten the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), with Iran, The Hill added.

“I think being able to maintain our commitments under the agreement with the (Iran nuclear deal) is important,” Blumenauer said.

Iran has already inked multi-billion-dollar deals with the US Boeing and the European Airbus to purchase passenger planes.

The United States, during the tenure of the new administration in particular, has taken various anti-Iran measures on unfounded pretexts which will weaken the July 2015 deal to which many experts and top world officials believe that all sides have to be committed.
