28 Aug 2017 - 17:28

IRNA – Clerics of al-Quds in a statement called for Palestinians' massive turnout in Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday to confront Zionist Regime's attacks and extremists entrance as well, the Palestinian Information Center reported.

'Jerusalem [Aqsa Mosque] clerics on Sunday called on the Palestinian people to intensify their presence at al-Aqsa Mosque next Tuesday to protect the site against expected break-ins by Israeli Knesset members', the statement read on Sunday.

The Palestinian Information Center quoted al-Quds clerics as saying 'Israeli government's decision to allow MKs to enter al-Aqsa Mosque is 'provocative, irresponsible and legally baseless', affirming that al-Aqsa belongs to Muslims only.'

'The statement praised the Palestinian people, especially Jerusalemites, for standing for al-Aqsa Mosque, and noted that Israelis' repeated violations and attacks will not grant them any right in the holy site.'

'On 23rd August, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved a decision that allows MKs to visit al-Aqsa Mosque starting next Tuesday, and based on this visit, other new steps may be taken.

The Zionist regime prohibited Palestinians from entering the al-Aqsa Mosque on two consecutive Fridays. The Zionists urged the Palestinian prayers to go through electronic gates but they disobeyed the order.

Also in a clash between Quds occupying regime forces and the Palestinians which took place in front of the Mosque, three Palestinians were martyred on July 14.
