MNA – Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Muallem said Iran is a partner in victories achieved in the fight against terrorism in Syria.

The Syrian foreign minister made the remarks in a Wednesday meeting with Iranian Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Damascus.

During the meeting, Walid al-Muallem stressed Iran and Russia’s significant parts in victories against terrorists in Syria.

He also thanked Leader of Islamic Revolution for his advices and the supporting stance of Iranian nation and government.

For his part, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated the Syrian nation and government on the recent victories of Syrian Army and united forces in the fight against terrorism, particularly in eastern Syria which has pushed ISIL terrorists to the verge of annihilation.

He also thanked Syria for the decision to send Prime Minister Imad Khamis as the country’s representative for President Hassan Rouhani’s swearing-in ceremony on Saturday.
