Tasnim – Iran’s Ambassador to Muscat Mohammad Reza Noori Shahroudi and Chairman of Oman’s Public Authority for Radio and Television Abdullah bin Nasser al-Harasi discussed ways to promote cultural cooperation and media-related interaction between the two countries.
In a meeting in Muscat, the Iranian envoy and the Omani official explored avenues for cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and Oman’s Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART).
Touching on Iran and Oman’s common historical, civilizational and cultural background, the Iranian ambassador said the radio and televisions of the two Muslim countries could establish strong links.
For his part, Harasi expressed confidence that the Tehran-Muscat ties would grow in all arenas during the Iranian envoy’s term in the sultanate.
Iran and Oman share age-old and close diplomatic, economic, and commercial ties.
Oman’s Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said played an important role in facilitating the early stages of nuclear talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), which led to a landmark nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in July 2015.
