Tasnim– The Iranian people from all walks of life plan to stage massive demonstrations in five provinces this Friday to condemn recent heinous crimes committed against the Palestinian nation and also the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
In a statement late on Tuesday, Iran's Islamic Propagation Coordination Council decried recent Israeli attacks against Palestinians and said the “shameful and savage crimes” of the Zionist regime have entered a new phase.
The regime is desecrating al-Aqsa Mosque, as the first Qibla of Muslims (the direction that should be faced when praying), and killing Palestinian worshippers and youths, the statement added.
The council also condemned the massacre of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar at the hands of racists and extremists with the support of the Myanmar government and said the “inhumane crimes” have distressed Muslims around the world.
It also called on the Iranian people to participate in the massive demonstrations due to be held in five provinces after this Friday prayers in condemnation of the oppression of Palestinian and Rohingya Muslims.
Several Palestinians have been killed and hundreds more injured in recent weeks amid mass protests over new Israeli security measures at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Rohingya Muslims have also been subjected to executions, rape, and arson attacks since October, according to refugees and rights groups.
Myanmar’s government denies full citizenship to the 1.1 million-strong Rohingya population and instead brands them as “illegal immigrants” from Bangladesh, even as many trace their lineage in Myanmar back generations.
The Rohingya Muslims who have fled to Bangladesh during decades of violence in Myanmar, as many as 500,000, are not recognized as citizens by Dhaka, either.
