Tasnim – The Iranian Police chasing three burglars in connection with a robbery early on Monday fired shots at their car in western Tehran, killing a woman with criminal record and injuring another thug, a commander said.
Speaking to Tasnim, Tehran Police Chief General Hossein Sajedinia said the robbery was reported to the police early Monday morning, with the victim describing the assailants as two men and a woman.
Police on patrol in the area immediately spotted the bandits and tried to catch them in a car chase, he added.
The police forces fired shots into the air during the chase, but the criminals refused to pull over and the police had to shoot at their car, the commander added, saying the woman was killed in the incident, one of the men was injured and another man was arrested after trying to give police the slip.
General Sajedinia noted that all the three burglars had a criminal history with various offences including forced robbery, kidnapping and rape.
