IRNA – Local government in Valencia Province in Spain has decided to let Muslim girls wearing hijab take part in the province’s schools from the upcoming school year.
There will be no further hindrance regarding the presence of veiled Muslim girls in school classes as long as their hijab does not hide their identity and undermine their dignity, according to a local newspaper.
This official order was issued due to a case of complaint by a Spanish Muslim girl who was prevented from entering the classroom by the school authorities in September 2016.
The issue of Muslim hijabi girls’ presence at schools or work is one of the difficulties of Muslims in Spain and the courts in different provinces of this country have issued different verdicts, sometimes in favor and sometimes aginst the hijabi women.
