IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani’s special advisor for ethnics and minorities affairs Ali Yunesi has held talks with Tatarstan senior officials on promoting cultural and religious cooperation.
Yunesi, heading a high-ranking delegation, met on Friday with Tatarstan Parliament Speaker Ferit Mukhametshin, Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin and the former president of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.
During the meeting with Mukhametshin, president advisor stressed on the importance of mutual understanding and developing bilateral cooperation especially in ethnics and minorities affairs.
Tatarstan parliament speaker, on his part, voiced his country’s readiness to bolster friendly relations between the two nations.
Meanwhile, during his meeting with the country’s Mufti Kamil Samigullin, Yunesi praised efforts made by the Islamic Center of Tatarstan in promoting the Islamic values.
Samigullin also expressed readiness for developing scientific and religious cooperation and academic exchanges between Iran and Tatarstan.
