IRNA -- Head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ala’eddin Boroujerdi said there are good capacities available for promotion of Iran-North Korea relations.
Boroujerdi, in a meeting with North Korean Ambassador to Tehran Kang Sam-hyon, thanked North Korea for its stances on Tehran terrorist attacks and said there are good capacities available for upgrading relations between Iran and North Korea.
He said Iranian parliament supports expansion of cooperation between Iran and North Korea.
“The parliamentary friendship group of Iran and North Korea is ready to facilitate and expedite cooperation between the two countries in various domains.”
While welcoming expansion of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, Boroujerdi said, “We hope to upgrade cooperation through exchange of delegations and friendship groups, upgrading and expanding ties.”
Kang Sam-hyon in turn voiced pleasure with the opportunity available for cooperation and said, “Regarding the US’ unprecedented sanctions against Iran and North Korea, using the capacities can be very helpful for the two countries, favoring the either side.”
While condemning Tehran terrorist incident, the North Korean envoy said, “Source of terrorism worldwide and in the American region is western countries and Israel. We support Iran’s solid stances on campaign against terrorism and are happy that Iran’s standing in the Persian Gulf gets further consolidated.”
He invited Boroujerdi and members of Iran-North Korea parliamentary friendship group to visit his country.
