11 Jun 2017 - 11:43

IRNA – Iranian Intelligence and Interior Ministers as well as Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami attended a closed-door session of parliament (Majlis) on Sunday to brief the lawmakers on the recent terrorist attack in the capital, Tehran.

Talking to IRNA, a member of Majlis Presiding Board Akbar Ranjbarzadeh said that Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi and Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli as well as the IRGC Deputy Commander presented more details about the recent twin simultaneous attacks hitting the Iranian parliament and Mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in the south of Tehran, killing 17 and wounding 52.

On June 10, a senior member of Iran's parliament Gholamreza Kateb noted that a number of military commanders will also attend the Majlis briefing.

Majlis open sessions will be held on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and the special panels will continue their routine work, Kateb said.

Despite terrorist efforts to disrupt the work of Iran’s Majlis on Wednesday, the MPs continued their deliberations without any interruption.

Daesh (the ISIS terrorist group) accepted responsibility for the attacks.
