Tasnim – Tehran’s provisional Friday prayers leader took a swipe at the Riyadh regime for fanning the flames of regional crises and for doing the US a service by signing huge arms deals with Washington.
Addressing worshippers in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani blamed the conflicts in Syria, Palestine, Yemen, Afghanistan and Iraq on the US.
Americans have started fire in the Middle East and Saudi rulers are fanning it, the cleric stated.
Referring to US president’s comments following a recent Trip to Riyadh that hundreds of billions of dollars would return to the US, Ayatollah Emami Kashani said Americans have in fact “plundered” the Middle East’s assets and the Saudi rulers are in fact Washington’s “servants.”
After signing deals worth hundreds of billions of dollars during a visit to Saudi Arabia in May, Donald Trump said he was “bringing hundreds of billions of dollars back to the U.S.A. from the Middle East.”
Elsewhere, the Iranian cleric recommended the “cruel rulers” in the Islamic world to stop abetting the US, which he said is the real creator of Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group with the help of Saudi petrodollars.
On May 20, Trump sealed a $110 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia on his maiden foreign trip as the US president. The deal, plus other investments that could total up to $350 billion, was the central achievement of Trump's visit to the kingdom.
Iranian official have slammed the arms deal as a threat to the Middle East security.
