28 May 2017 - 13:48

May 28, The Iran Project – An Italian official has stressed on Iran’s great capabilities to actively take part in the international cultural markets.

Given its extensive capacities and potentials, Iran's international standing can greatly progress in the field of art and culture, said Deputy Head of the Commercial Development Section in Italian Embassy in Tehran Tony Corradini in an interview on Sunday.

Speaking about Iran-Italy’s long-standing ties in different eras, Corradini stated that the two countries had good cultural and political relations even before Iran's nuclear deal with world powers.

Several major Italian delegations travelled to Tehran during the sanctions time and after the JCPOA, he noted, adding we are very optimistic about the future of Iran-Italy’s relations.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to Rome’s presence in the 30th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) as the special guest country, saying TIBF, having more than three million visitors, is one of the most important book fairs in Asia.

The Italian official also asked Iranian nation to pay attention to all aspects of Italian culture to become interested in the country’s past and present culture.

Following Iran’s signing nuclear deal with P5+1, Tehran-Rome all-out ties have been considerably improved so that several Italian politico-economic and cultural delegations visited Iran to discuss expanding relations.
