IRNA -- President-elect Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the Syrian crisis should be resolved through peaceful means.


Rouhani said in a press conference in the presence of over 300 domestic and foreign reporters in Tehran on Monday.

From early stages of the 11th government we underlined that Syrian crisis should be resolved through peaceful means, the president-elect said in response to a question posed by the Syrian news agency (SANA).

Iran, Russia and Turkey are now cooperating to restore ceasefire in order to create a calm situation for the people in Syria, he said.

Iran will spare no efforts to help restore peace and tranquility in Syria and believes that fight against terrorism should be on the agenda, he said.
