IRNA - A member of Iran-Kuwait Friendship Group said here on Wednesday that the upcoming presidential elections would boost Iran's status in the region.
Talking to IRNA, Jalil Tabbakh said Iran is facing several challenges at the international level, underlying that a powerful diplomacy would play a pivotal role in reinforcing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s status in the region.
Pointing to the significance of the forthcoming presidential election in Iran, the Kuwaiti lawyer said all regional countries are eying the election in Iran.
Touching upon the unique status of Iran in the Islamic world, he said the next Iranian president should tackle the conspiracies of global imperialism and defend the interests of Muslims.
Pointing to the efforts made by the US, the Zionist regime and certain Arab countries to foment regional crises, Tabbakh stressed that a powerful Iranian president plays a pivotal role in countering seditions in the region.
During the past four decades, he added, the Iranian nation has always had a powerful presence in different scenes and would have a large turnout in the upcoming presidential election slated for May 19, 2017.
Referring to the Kuwaiti side’s interests for fostering its all-out ties with Iran, he added Kuwait, Iran and Oman enjoy vast untapped economic potentials.
The recent visits of Kuwaiti, Iranian and Omani delegations would pave the way for promotion of tranquility in the region, Tabbakh said.
