MNA– Iranian Foreign Minsiter Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined that UNESCO's Global Education Agenda 2030 is implemented in Iran based on social and cultural values. Pointing to the UNESCO's Global Education Agenda 2030, Zarif said Iran has not ratified all the agendas passed, even those Iran has joined to, like the Convention on the Rights of the Child; "Iran did not accept all the sections of the convention."
“Agenda 2030 is not a binding document; it includes some proposals that does not correspond to our viewpoints,” he noted.
At that time, Zarif said, Iran’s education minister said Iran will only implement the sections that comply with Iranian customs as well as cultural and religious rules; “there is no obligation to practice any proposal in violation of our values; this was Mr. Fani’s stance at UNESCO summit in Paris, too, which was registered in written.”
Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei, speaking among teachers from across the country on Sunday, also denounced UNESCO’s Global Education Agenda 2030 as something the Islamic Republic would not surrender or abide by, adding “Islamic Republic has its own supreme educational sources and does not need any other document.”
