MNA – An environment official in Iran’s Semnan province told the media that a male Iranian cheetah has been filmed while trying to mate.
The Acting Director of the local office Department of Environmental Protection in Shahrud County, Semnan Province, Ali Akbar Ghorbanlou told the media that park rangers of Khar Turan National Park or Touran Wildlife Refuge have managed to film Firouz, a male Iranian cheetah, who is now in his mating season trying to attract female cheetahs with producing special sounds.
The official added that last year, Kavous, the brother of Firouz was filmed in the same habitat. Mr. Ghorbanlou noted that since domestic animals had been given the grazing in the habitat, the cheetahs were not observed.
