APA- Azerbaijan is interested in developing military cooperation with Iran, said Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan in Tehran April 16, an APA correspondent reported from Tehran.
Hasanov noted that the recent meetings of the Azerbaijani and Iranian leaders created the necessary conditions for the development of military cooperation.
“Azerbaijan attaches great importance to ensuring the security of the two countries’ borders and will never allow their violation," the minister stressed.
Congratulating his counterpart on Iran’s National Army Day, Hasanov called for lasting peace, stability and security in the region.
