IRNA – “The registration of 176 nominees out of 196 has been confirmed on the third day of enlisting candidates,” says Ali Pourali-Motlagh, the Secretary of Election Headquarters.

“There is sum of 439 candidates registration since the beginning of the enlisting process,” said Porali-Motlagh.

The youngest and oldest nominees are 18 and 88 and the most of the candidates’ age range is 46-50, he also said.

“There are 11 women nominees of the whole candidates,” he further said.

The final list of the candidates eligible to run for Iran’s 12th round of presidential election is expected to be announced by the Interior Ministry on April 26–27.

Election campaign will officially begin on April 28 and end on May 17. The Election Day is on May 19.
