Iran and Lebanon strengthen resistance in the Middle East

Iran's ambassador to Lebanon, Gazanfar Roknabadi, reiterated on Friday support by Tehran at the lead of an anti-Israeli resistance and unity of the Lebanese people. "Iran emphasized that regional problems should be solved by the countries of the region, but this goal will not materialize..."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran always supports stability and unity in Lebanon and is attached to this country as part of the anti-Israeli axis of resistance," said Roknabadi during a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansur.

"Iran emphasized that regional problems should be solved by the countries of the region, but this goal will not materialize unless all maintain unity against our only enemy: the Israeli regime," he said.

The Persian diplomat, besides addressing other regional current affairs with Lebanese leaders insisted on Iran's legitimate right to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

Adnan Mansur, in turn, insisted on the Iran's nuclear rights and expressed satisfaction with the dialogue between Tehran and the Group 5 +1 (the United States, Russia, China, Britain and France, plus Germany).

At the conclusion of the last meeting, the parties agreed to conduct another round of talks in Baghdad on May 23.

BBC News quoted a White House representatives were said to be praising Iran's positive attitude at the meeting.
