IRNA – Lebanese Defense Minister Yacob Sarraf appreciated Iran’s role and support for Lebanon in confrontation with the Zionist and Takfiri enemies.


He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation between the two countries.

Fathali underlined support for Lebanese nation, army and resistance and congratulated appointment of al-Sarraf as new Lebanese Defense minister.

The ambassador also met separately with Lebanese Army Commander-in- Chief General Joseph Aoun and discussed issues of mutual interests with him.

Fathali congratulated his appointment as new Lebanese Army chief commander.

Iran’s military attaché Colonel Mohammad Reza Mirzaei accompanied the ambassador in both meetings.
