IRNA - Commander of Khatam ul-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili Iran will severely respond any possible aggression on its territory “with a strong fist”.
Addressing a local commemoration ceremony for martyrs on Friday, he said that the Khatam ul-Anbia air base is monitoring the country’s sky 24/7, and has developed its operation in 3,700 points throughout the country.
The air defense base comprises the Army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), the Police and Basij (Voluntary) forces, who are mostly young forces acting decisively against the enemy, the commander said.
Noting that one of the challenges of the present time is enemy’s soft war, the commander said that the main target of enemy’s soft war is the young generation who were not present during the Sacred Defense era (Iraqi imposed war against Iran, 1980-1988) and the days when the late Founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini was alive.
Aggrandizing problems of a country is one of the means used by enemy at its cultural and soft war, Commander Esmaeili said.
He added that sowing discord among different ethnic minorities and between people and government is another objective of enemy’s soft war.
The commander urged Iranians to stay united against enemy’s plots.
