Shana – Managing Director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei says Iran can turn into the region's determiner of petrochemical prices provided that it adopts an integrated petrochemical export policy.

Addressing a national conference on the future of petrochemical industry, opportunities and threats on Sunday, the official said adopting an integrated marketing and business policy by Iranian petrochemical companies would be the best way to bolster the country's foothold in international markets.

She said enhancing exports, gradually weaning the economy off petrodollars, and increasing export of downstream products are some of the main goals and visions pursued by Iran's petrochemical industry.

She further said that NPC has defined dozens of major upstream and downstream projects under the 6th five-year development plan (2017-2022) that will add nearly 50 million tons to the country's annual petrochemical output by 2022.
