Financial Tribune- Afghanistan imports some $2.8 billion worth of commodities from Iran every year, according to the Afghan envoy to Iran, Nasir Ahmad Nour.
“If oil exports are excluded, Afghanistan would be considered Iran’s biggest export destination,” the official was quoted as saying by IRNA.
A third of Afghanistan’s domestic demand for goods enters that country through Dogharoun border terminal located in the border city of Taybad in Khorasan Razavi Province, which also accounts for 50% of the Iranian province’s annual exports.
