Trade min. lands in Ankara

MNA – Iranian Trade Minister Nematzadeh, leading an Iranian delegation, landed in Turkish capital Tue. morning to mull over expansion of Tehran-Ankara economic and trade ties.

Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh was welcomed by Iranian ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard as well as officials of Turkish Ministry of Economy at Esenbo?a International Airport of Ankara.

Nematzadeh is slated to meet with Nihat Zeybekçi, Turkey’s Economy Minister who also heads Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Commission, in order to discuss standards applied by Turkey to certain Iranian export goods as well as expansion of the list of commodities subject to preferential trade agreement between the two neighboring countries.

Presently, a total 125 Turkish commodities being exported to Iran enjoy tariff discount while Turkey is offering discounts on 140 types of Iranian export goods.

Previously, negotiations were held between Tehran and Ankara over addition of 40 types of export commodities to the list by each side.

Relevant decisions are expected to be taken in this regard during the joint meeting between Iran’s Nematzadeh and Zeybekçi of Turkey.
