Extradition of Iranian prisoners from Armenia reviewed

IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Kazem Sajjadi and Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan on Thursday discussed judicial cooperation as well as extradition of Iranian prisoners from the country.

During the meeting held in Yerevan on Thursday, topics of negotiations held by the chairman of Investigative Committee of Armenia in Tehran with the aim of promoting judicial cooperation and pursue the case of Iranian inmates and their extradition.

Describing achievements of his recent Tehran visit as valuable, Hovsepyan said that negotiations centered on boosting cooperation between judicial and supervisory institutes of the two countries.

Sajjadi, for his part, called for expediting the judicial proceedings and the extradition to serve their prison terms in Iran.

A number of Iranian inmates have so far been extradited to Iran and another group will also be released in near future.
