IRNA – Presidential elections headquarters is to start its activities here next week, Tehran's Deputy Governor General for Social and Political Affairs Shahabeddin Chavoshi has announced.
Chavoshi told IRNA on Wednesday that the headquarters is to focus on preparing necessary grounds for massive turnout in the next presidential elections in the country.
The headquarters is using well-qualified experts who are eligible for this capacity to encourage higher political participation of people, the official said.
People should be encouraged to use their legitimate rights according to the Constitution and the Charter of Citizens' Rights by all sectors of the Islamic system, he aded
On Dec 26, Minister of Interior Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli through different decrees appointed the secretary, members and officials of the elections headquarters across the country.
12th presidential elections simultaneous with that of Islamic city and village councils are to be held nationwide on May 19, 2017.
