Residents of the city of Isfahan are celebrating the arrival of water in city’s famous Zayande Rud (Life-giving River). The river has been dry due to severe drought and diversion of water resources.
Zayande Rud is an integral part of the city’s landscape and has strong links to its history and culture. Some of Iran’s most famous and historical bridges have been constructed over Zayandeh Rud such as 33 Pol (Bridge of 33 arches) and Khajoo bridge.
