Diplomat urges Islamic states to back UN anti-Israel resolution

26 Dec 2016 - 15:00

MNA – Iranian diplomat Amir-Abdollahian said unified support of Islamic countries for UNSC Resolution against Zionist regime was the smallest step to be taken.

In his personal account on Telegram, the Iranian Parliament Deputy General for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said the time was ripe for Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League to take advantage of the opportunity to carry out their Islamic and humanitarian responsibility by solid backing of United Nations Security Council resolution that censured the Zionist regime for its settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He deemed it a small though necessary step to express wholehearted support for the anti-Zionist Resolution adopted by the UNSC.

The official, while pointing to some parties who called for a mourning day on the occasion of terrorists’ suppression in Aleppo, said “presently, oppressed Palestinian Muslims need to be understood since support for Palestine and Jerusalem possesses the capacity to become the unifying element of the Islamic world.”
