December 26, The Iran Project – A number of Iranian parliament stressed that Iran Air deal with Airbus can develop Iran’s trade transactions with other countries.

On Thursday, the European aviation giant, Airbus, sealed a contract with the Iranian flag carrier, Iran Air, for the sale of 100 aircraft, worth over $18 billion dollars at list prices, to the Islamic Republic.

Stressing that Airbus deal can neutralize US’s measures for spreading Iranophobia, Ali Bakhtiar, an Iranian lawmaker said by finalizing the deal; Iran signals to the world that they can develop their interactions with the Islamic Republic.

Speaking to a reporter on Monday, Iranian parliamentarian Morteza Safari Natanzi referred to the finalizing of a 100-jet deal with Airbus and said the implementation of the deal will resolve the banking problems for extensive trade ties with other countries.

Although the US have imposed cruel sanction against Iran’s aviation industry, following the nuclear deal with the world powers, the Iranian government could take effective measures for sealing new contracts and purchasing passenger planes, noted Jalil Rahimi Jahan Abadi, a member of Iran’s parliament.

On December 22, Iran Air Chairman and CEO Farhad Parvaresh and Airbus President and CEO Fabrice Bregier finalized the accord, which was initially signed in Paris back in January 2016, the France-based plane maker announced in a press release.

The agreement covered 46 Airbus A320 planes, 38 A330 planes and 16 A350 XWB aircraft, with deliveries due to begin in early 2017.

The deal was made possible after the US removed a ban on selling Iran passenger aircraft and spare parts following the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Tehran and the P5+1 group of world powers, namely Russia, China, France, Britain, and the US plus Germany hammered out the nuclear accord in July 2015.
