December 11, The Iran Project – More than 40 percent of artworks in the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) belong to the Iranian artists, says the IAMM director visiting Iran’s cultural attaché in Malaysia.

Referring to the rich Iranian art and culture, the IAMM director Seyed Mohammad Al-Bukhari said the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia is interested in further mutual cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and its artists.

Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia would like to cooperate with the Iranian artists to hold Islamic art workshops and is ready to transfer the experiences of Iran's rich art and introduce its culture, he added.

Iran’s cultural attaché in Malaysia, Ali Mohammad Sabeghi also welcomed cultural and artistic cooperation with the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, saying cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to exchange art experts and artists between the two countries, and hold workshops and joint art exhibitions.

The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia in the heart of Kuala Lumpur was officially opened doors to the public in 1998, putting on display over seven thousand artefacts from various spots of the Islamic world.

Among the Iranian works included in the IAMM are Iranian art works belonging to different periods of history, especially Qurans written by different Iranian calligraphists, and many gold, silver and ceramic antique works, and historical documents as well.
