FNA- Indonesian Parliament Speaker Zulkifli Hasan underlined the need for serious campaign against the terrorist groups, specially the ISIL, and called on Iran to increase its efforts to this end.
"Iran is an influential country in the region and we want Iran to make more efforts to find a solution to settle the crisis in the region," Hasan said in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani in Tehran on Monday.
Larijani, for his part, stressed Tehran and Jakarta's close views on regional issues, and said, "Both countries believe that the crises stirred in the region have led to unstable security in certain countries which is just beneficial to the Zionist regime and should be resolved only through political means and talks."
"During negotiations (with Hasan), it was stressed that the Muslim states should prevent the spread of these terrorist streams through consultations," he added.
Iran is helping the regional states, including Iraq and Syria, in campaign against terrorism by sending military advisors at the demand of their governments.
In relevant remarks in May, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined the necessity for collective campaign against terrorism and adoption of a tough approach towards supporters of terrorist groups.
"All countries' determination and cooperation is needed to fight against terrorism and certain countries should understand that supporting and using terrorists to attain the political and regional goals is not a proper choice and will not yield results," Rouhani said.
"Therefore, in the first stage of campaign against terrorism, specially the ISIL, we should identify those in the backstage (of supporting terrorism), and then stand against the countries which support terrorism and the ISIL to prevent them from supplying the terrorist group with modern weapons and financial aid and stop their plundering of Syria's oil and ancient monuments," he added.
