MNA– Borzou Niknejad’s comedy ‘Zapas’ won two awards at Asian Rainbow Awards in China.


Comedy Zapas written and directed by Borzou Niknejad and produced by Seyyed Amir Parvin Hosseini won the Best Comedy Award and closely watched TV award for Best Actress.

Zapas recounts the story of a third class soccer team which climbs to the second category. Saeed, major player of the team, is injured at the last minute of the last game and his health is endangered. The story of the movie then takes shape.

The third Asia Rainbow TV Awards ceremony was held on November 27 in Macao, China, with actors from Chinese mainland taking home Best Leading Actor and Best Leading Actress awards.

The Asia Rainbow TV Awards is an Asian television awards ceremony organized by the Hong Kong Television Association and China Television Production Committee. The event debuted in Hong Kong in 2011, followed by Macao in 2014.
