Bosnian Pres. calls Iran’s Jewelry Museum ‘unparalleled’

TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – Head of Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council Bakir Izetbegovic paid a visit to the National Jewelry Treasury in Tehran on Friday.


Bakir Izetbegovic as the head of a delegation in Tehran for a four-day stay, paid a visit to the National Jewelry Treasury of Iran, commonly known as the ‘Jewels Museum’, on Friday. The museum is located within the Central Bank of Iran, at the heart of the capital Tehran.

The Bosnian president expressed amazement with the Treasury and called the collection of jewels unparalleled and unique.

“The National Jewelry Treasury of Iran bespeaks the ancient culture and history of the Iranian nation,” he said during the tour of the museum, “the collection, in addition to its economic value, is also a manifestation of the mastery and unique taste of Iranian artists and artisans.”

Notable among the jewelry collection at the National Jewelry Treasury are the world’s largest uncut diamond known as Daria-i-Noor (Sea of Light), a pink diamond weighing 182 carats, and the Naderi Throne made during the Qajar era which is now situated outside the vault door.

The President of Bosnia and Herzegovina heading a delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday night and held talks with Ayatollah Khamenei, President Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani. On Wednesday, he also paid a visit to the historical city of Isfahan.
