Tehran, Oct 23, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday voiced Iran's readiness to facilitate transfer of energy from Caspian Sea littoral states via Iranian soil, the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea to the consumer states.
Zarif made the remarks in the 47th meeting of a special working group tasked with drawing up the legal regime of the Caspian Sea.
Iran hosted the two-day meeting in presence of representatives and deputy foreign ministers of five Caspian Sea littoral states, namely Iran, Azerbaijan Republic, Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
The foreign minister expressed hope that with determination and goodwill of the leaders of the littoral states, the legal regime of the Caspian Sea would be finalized in the near future.
