TEHRAN, Oct. 19 (MNA) – Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi rejecting the interventionist remarks made by US officials said Iranian nation and government never care about their intruding comments.
Any kind of linking Iran's domestic issues and independent courts' judicial decisions against spies and criminals, to the international trade and investment arena is an unwarranted, vain and useless attempt to affect global cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ghasemi said.
He dismissed irrational threats as yet another example of interventionist temper of US government and added, "undoubtedly, inappropriate implicit threats are not effective and constructive, and add another brick to the wall of mistrust.
Ghasemi said Iranian government and people do not care about US officials' interventionist and selfish policies and any attempt to create a rift among Iranian nation will not be rendered successful.
Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dowlatabadi announced on Tuesday that Iranian court has sentenced an Iranian-American businessman Siamak Namazi and his father Bagher Namazi, as well as Kamran Ghaderi, Nazar Zeka, Alireza Omidvar and Farhad Abdolsaleh to 10 years in prison on charges of spying and cooperating with the United States.
Mark Toner, US State Department's deputy spokesman, called the detain of Namazis "unjust", calling for their immediate release.
