Luxembourg ready to finance Iran’s projects: Economy Minister

October 18, The Iran Project – In a bid to increase Iran-Luxembourg's cooperation in different fields, Luxembourg’s Economy Minister Etienne Schneider says they are ready to finance Iranian projects.

In a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayebnia on Monday, Etienne Schneider announced that Luxembourg is ready to invest in steel, ICT, logistics and technology sectors in Iran.

Saying Luxembourg is well-known in finance area, Schneider stressed that the country has 30 years of experience in Islamic financing.

He referred to Luxembourg’s extensive abilities in land and air, and its proper geographic position in Europe, announced that it will support other countries’ companies in doing aerospace activities.

Knowledge-Based Companies have an important place in Luxembourg, he stated, adding we are going to cooperate with all countries and now we come to Iran to invite the Iranian businessmen to travel to our country.

In addition, the head of Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Carlo Thelen noted that we are really interested in having relationship with entrepreneurs of other countries, expressing hope that the meeting will increase the two countries’ cooperation.

Luxembourg's Economy Minister Etienne Schneider arrived in Tehran early on Monday to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.

Heading a high-ranking economic delegation, Schneider is scheduled to sit down with Iranian business leaders active in the field of ICT during his three-day visit to the Iranian capital Tehran.

The Luxembourgian minister is accompanied by a Chamber of Commerce business delegation comprised of 40 representatives from Luxembourg companies.
