Iran, Congo discuss expansion of bilateral ties

Tehran, Oct 11, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi Ansari and his Congolese counterpart Frank Malila discussed ways for broadening of bilateral ties in a meeting in Tehran on Monmday.

The Congolese deputy foreign minister lauded Iran’s industrial and technological capabilities, and said, “The two countries can have more effective cooperation through combining Congo’s resources and Iran’s capabilities.”

Jaberi Ansari, for his part, hailed the Congolese independent leader and anti-colonial figure Patrice Lumumba and while pointing to good capacities for improvement of relations between the two countries said, “The visit by Congolese deputy foreign minister to Tehran and setting up a joint political committee can prepared the grounds for start of a new era in mutual cooperation.

Jaberi Ansari also pointed to Iran’s remarkable capacities in different fields, including exporting technical and engineering services, and expressed the hope that the two countries would further their relations in these fields.
