IRGC deputy navy commander: Iran prevents Daesh to expand in region

9 Oct 2016 - 9:35

Bandar Abbas, Oct 9, IRNA -- Deputy commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Alireza Tangsiri announced that Iran’s wisdom and self-restraint prevented the spread of war by Daesh (ISIS) supporters to the Persian Gulf.

“If there hadn’t been the strength, capability and self-restraint of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the magnitude of the war by the ISIL supporters would have spread to the Persian Gulf,” Tangsiri said.

In relevant remarks in late August, Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said that Takfiri terrorist groups, including Daesh are doing their best to destabilize Iran.

Speaking in a local ceremony in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on Tuesday, first vice president said Iran is located in an insecure region and various Takfiri groups, including Daesh are trying to destabilize the country.

Jahangiri praised Iran’s security and stability thanks to efforts and sacrifices of security and military forces.

The world has admitted that it needs Iran’s help to establish peace in the region, he noted.

Jahangiri said that if Iran had not stood against Daesh, this terrorist group would have dominated over several capitals of Islamic countries.

Referring to the problems on the way of execution of Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action, he said that Tehran would pursue implementation of nuclear deal reached between Iran and G5+1.

Iran’s oil export doubled in the post-sanctions era, the official added.

He underlined that non-oil exports should increase to 50 billion dollars during this Iranian calendar year (started March 20, 2016) from the current 40 billion dollars.
