The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will consider special conditions for Iran, Libya and Nigeria in the deal curbing oil output of the international cartel's members, Qatari Energy and Industry Minister Mohammed Saleh Abdulla Al Sada said Wednesday.
ALGIERS (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, OPEC decided to establish a technical committee to study a mechanism of sharing oil production between individual countries.
"Three special countries which will be treated specially is Iran, Libya and Nigeria and the OPEC countries taking to consideration this very point," Al Sada told during the press conference held after informal talks which turned into an extraordinary session of OPEC.
According to a final statement adopted after the meeting, OPEC plans to work out a permanent format of high-level consultations with oil producing countries that are not part of the organization in order to ensure market stability.
