TEHRAN, Sept 21 (Shana) – Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) Ali-Reza Kameli says Iran's gas exports has reached 32 million cubic meters a day.
Kameli said for the time being, about 32 million cubic meters of gas is exported a day.
He said regarding increase in gas production in coming years, Iran's gas export volume will increase dramatically.
Gas extraction from South Pars now stands at more than 380 million cubic meters a day and it to reach 500 million cubic meters a day early next year.
Kameli referred to plans for increasing basket of export contracts and said talks on gas export contracts on the international level are long-term in nature and it will create exigencies for the either side."To this end, the NIGEC will try to examine all possible ways and find a suitable place for gas exports."
He then touched on talks on various options for gas swap and said now, there are proposals on swap of Turkmenistan gas with Turkey and other countries and it is expected that the gas can be used for transfer to the south.
