Tehran, Sept 13, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Tuesday that Tehran is not in contact and talks with Washington on regional issues.


'The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States have not had any contact, consultation or talks on regional issues,' said Qasemi.

He made the remarks following reports suggesting that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and his US counterpart John Kerry had talked on the issue of ceasefire in Syria.

Dismissing such claims, Qasemi said that, 'Iran and the US are not basically in any contact, consultation and dialogue on regional issues.'
