Santiago, Aug 25, IRNA – A conference titled 'review of joint Iran-Chile economic opportunities' opened here on Thursday with opening speeches by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Chilean counterpart Heraldo Muñoz Valenzuela.

Joint Iran-Chile Economic Conference is the biggest and most important economic conference which is held in Chile by Iran after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

The Iranian and Chilean foreign ministers underlined the need for the expansion of bilateral ties during the conference.

Zarif embarked on a week-long tour of Latin America on Sunday.
