Riyadh charges against Tehran on Yemeni missiles are baseless

21 Aug 2016 - 13:38

Tehran, Aug 21, IRNA – Enhancement of missile capabilities of the Yemeni revolutionary forces in fight against Saudi Arabia has made Riyadh accuse Tehran of sending military aid to Yemen.

The Yemeni revolutionaries' missile capability has made Riyadh so concerned about the issue that the media affiliated to Saudi Arabia have spread false news claiming that Iran has given the missiles to Yemeni revolutionary forces.

Saudi news channel Al Arabiya and daily newspaper Al Watan are among the media that have distorted Islamic Republic News Agency's (IRNA) news about the issue.

They have claimed that although the Iranian officials have rejected the dispatch of military aid to Yemen, the official news agency 'IRNA' has declared the reverse and said that launch of the missile by Houthis to Najran region in Saudi Arabia has been an Iranian-made missile called Zelzal-3.

According to a Sunday report by IRNA, the Yemeni experts have achieved big success in enhancing their missile capabilities.

Saudi Arabia does not want to see new capabilities of Yemeni revolutionaries rather it wants to show that they have been equipped by Iran as their hostility towards Iran has raised after the Mina tragedy in which over 5,000 pilgrims including 461 Iranians were killed and in the aftermath of the event.

According to IRNA report, the Yemeni revolutionaries will be turned into a big missile power in the next two or three years. Saudi Arabia sees such a power as a threat to itself.

Saudi Arabia with the help of nine other Arab countries except Oman has been mounting massive attacks on Yemen since March 26, 2015, to give power back to the resigned Yemeni President Mansur Hadi and prevent the Yemeni revolutionary forces from taking power.
