Russian Ambassador to Iran stated that Iran shows an interest in acquiring the latest types of Russian weapons.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Iran shows an interest in acquiring the latest types of Russian weapons, Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan said.

"Iran has traditionally shown an interest in acquiring the most modern types of Russian-produced weapons. The military equipment supplied to Iran is solely defensive and does not pose a risk of altering the balance of forces in the region," Dzhagaryan told RIA Novosti.
