August 1, The Iran Project - Raialyoum Arabic Independent Newspaper has criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for the recent meeting with the ringleader of an anti-Iran terrorist group, describing the move as another mistake by him.
Calling the meeting between Mahmoud Abbas and Maryam Rajavi, the ringleader of the terrorist Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) unique and rare in its kind, Raialyoum asked whether the visit was made by Abbas decision, or he was under the pressure of Saudi Arabia which sent its former spymaster, Turki al-Faisal, to the MKO’s meeting in Paris.
Abbas meeting with Rajavi is not only considered a great moral and political support of the Iranian opposition but it shows that Palestinian National Authority and Fatah movement have decided to support Saudi Arabia’s anti-Iran policies, the online newspaper said.
It also warns Palestine over involving in current conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
On Saturday evening, July 30, the ringleader of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) Maryam Rajavi, met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the French capital of Paris, discussing regional issues and the recent MKO’s meeting in Paris.
The meeting took place while the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) headed by Mahmoud Abbas strongly denied the news of attending the MKO meeting in Paris and Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) also released the PLO’s statement.
Meanwhile, Hossein Sheikholeslam, an adviser to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif harshly criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s meeting with MKO ringleader, saying it came as no surprise to Iran since the relations between Mahmoud Abbas and terrorist groups and Israelis have been covert and have only become publicized today.
