TEHRAN (ISNA)- Head of Iranian Space Organization Mohsen Bahrami said that three satellites of ‘Dousti’ (friendship), Amir-Kabir and Nahid (Venus) are scheduled to be launched into space soon.

He said that Iran plans to launch at least a couple of satellites into space by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (which ends on March 20, 2016).

He continued any of the three satellites which gets ready sooner would be in priority to be launched.

Bahrami said that AT-SAT developed by Amir-Kabir Poly Technique University is of telecommunications class and Dousti is a remote-sensing one.

He said that Pars satellite which is under construction is a remote-sensing one as well.

Iran has held talks with the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO), and the organization is going to install a satellite in Mahdasht, Alborz Province, central Iran, he said, adding the satellite would be delivered to Iran late September or in October.
