TEHRAN, July 11 (Shana) – Public Relations Department at Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Plant announced on Monday that all those injured in the last weekend fire are recovered and went to work.
The announcement ruled out rumors that the fire had left anybody dead and said all the injured received outpatient medication services.
It put number of those injured at 33.
Fire broke out in Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical Company on July 6 and it was controlled until Thursday morning, it re-started again on Thursday but under control of the forces in the scene.
Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh was on a visit to Mahshahr to oversee the firefighting operation at the scene.
The incident has inflicted severe damage on various parts including the process tower of the complex, naphtha storage tanks, pipelines and connections, as well as thousand barrels of naphtha as a scarce and strategic by-product of oil.
Covering an area of 36 hectares in the northwest of the Persian Gulf in Khuzestan province, Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Plant is situated in Mahshahr Special Economic Zone.
The plant is owned by Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and produces 1.75 million ton per year of aromatics and by-products.
