TEHRAN, Jul. 10 (MNA) – An offer of apologies to the public has ultimately come from one of Rouhani’s ministers, Mr. Tayebnia after pressures demanding government apology for inordinate figures in salary bills of government officials.
Mr. Ali Tayebnia who was speaking in the opening ceremony of International Bourse, Banking and Insurance Exhibition on Sunday, offered apologies for what the public had entrusted on the Ministry; “we cherish public sensitivities and apologize for recent events and relevant mismanagement,” said the minister.
“The Ministry has been closely pursuing the case of inordinate amounts in salary bills along with the Cabinet and will act according to directives issued by the Leader that any official of such salaries should be laid off and the amounts should be returned to public treasury,” Tayebnia said.
“The Ministry however will stand with ‘honest and well-serving’ managers in the ranks and files of the system; the government will by no means countenance the status quo to continue and it has drafted a plan to accept the challenge,” emphasized the minister. “The draft seeks to strictly regulate and bring to array welfare compensations of banks, insurance companies and other government organizations; it is currently examined by the Cabinet and a preliminary version has also been sent to Planning and Management Organization.”
He further said that the government would address the issue ‘without any qualms and considerations for cronies, feeding parasitically on public resources.’
