TEHRAN (ISNA)- Spokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said that Iran and officials in charge of ITER project reached an agreement on generalities of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in France.
The Iranian delegation visited various sections of the global project in France, he said, adding capabilities of Iranian scientists for participation in the plan was also discussed in a meeting with ITER representatives.
Kamalvandi continue that ITER is planning to evaluate Iran’s activities, and details for participation would be specified further.
He said that the AEOI and the ITER system would continue exchanging delegations, and the process would define in which sections Iranian scientists can cooperate.
The Iranian official also said that Head of AEOI Ali- Akbar Salehi arrived in France last week for a five-day visit following official invitation by ITER official and was accompanied by Iranian Ambassador to France Ali Ahani and Iranian Vice- President for Scientific Affairs Sorena Sattari.
Kamalvandi said that the Iranian delegation also visited Tokamak and was informed of its construction process.
He said that Iran is after expanding cooperation with ITER.
